So today I was looking through Sugar's Facebook page when I saw that some people had been yelling at them for spreading lies about a person they interviewed. I decided to look into this so I read all the comments and looked on the girls Facebook page and read what she had to say. I then decided to read the article.
The article was pretty interesting and is in February 2011's issue. Its about a girl who is allowed to have sex in her house, get drunk, has two tattoos and goes partying and clubbing for days on end. This wouldn't be a problem if she wasn't 14! That's right, this girl is only fourteen years old. Furthermore this child has dropped out of school and is being home schooled, and is under the impression that she will get into college easily. It's not the fact that she's home schooled that makes me doubtful she'll get into college, it's her attitude towards drinking, sex and partying. There are reasons why they have age restrictions.
So a lot of people are saying that the magazine is making this up. The girl in question is saying that the magazine is lying, they got the story from other papers (so if it's in other papers, you told them? Are they lying too, little girl?).
She's also said that legal action is going to be taken against them. The magazine has then said that if she doesn't stop denying the interview they will be talking to their lawyers.
Now the magazine have said that they have the interview on tape word for word, so this is evidence to back them up. Also there are suggestions that she has sold this story to 5, yes, 5 magazines. Are they all lying then?
To think about this logically, Sugar is a reputable magazine who have a lot to lose if they are lying about having and interview with the girl, and are found to be making up their stories. This child has what to lose exactly? She will gain publicity for this, and her reputation will be damaged if she is a liar.
This girl apparently likes being in the limelight because her Facebook page isn't normal, oh no, she has a fan page. So now we see what this is coming down to. By interviewing with Sugar she is getting publicity, by then denying the interview she gets even more publicity, and if legal action is taken she will undoubtedly be on the news getting more publicity.
In my opinion the girl is a fame hungry child, who doesn't realise the consequences of her actions.
Let me know what you think about this.
You can find more on her story if you google her.
I agree with you, the child is an egoistic, attention-seeking big-head who doesn't understand that actions get reactions. I don't need to hear anymore to understand and agree with you.
