Lesson with no teacher.

I have neglected you, I am sorry. Mass amounts of EPQ, Coursework, France and social life has taken over. I will tell you about France and maybe post pics if I can ever figure out how to do this.

Anyway:

Absent teacher dear followers, this normally would be time for rejoice. Today is not. My teacher was supposed to print me leaflets and bring in a UV lamp for my presentation. Which was half an hour ago. You can't see me right now but it involves my head and a wall. Want to punch him, stupid man.

So I'm spending the lesson surfing the webs and blaring music into my ears. This is a good lesson.

Might have to get myself one of this stress relievers. Will post them around my house, might actually make things better.

Once again the house is on the market, you know what this means. Yes, my room has to be spotless. Not going to happen but it's nice to dream isn't it?

Might start up with writing my stories again, started just tapping out random lines and character profiles again, looks like my brain is overflowing.

Watched an awesome anime recently that I would recommend to anyone, Highschool of the dead. Anime fans will know what I speak of when I say that this show is basic fan service. If you don't know what this is then try to guess from this picture.
As you've probably guessed purple haired girl is my favourite, I intend to cosplay this at some point. I think I shall show you another picture of her. Fan service alert.
Anyway let's talk about something else. Mass amounts of books from the library, new vampire series I'm reading. It explains vampirism as a nanobot that regenerates damage done to the body creating immortality. These vampires don't die if you stake them, only if you leave it in long enough that the nanobots can't repair the damage. Also these bots run off blood, which explains the whole neck glomp, glug glug of blood.

Also started reading the weather wardens series by Rachel Caine, the woman who wrote the Morganville vampires. It's good I'm just finding it hard to get into it. Which reminds me I have to take my books back to the library at some point.... probably going to have a rather large fine. Have to take college books back too.

Matt wants some of my cookies... I want them :( I guess I'll save him a few.

They are good though I'm slowly nomming my way through a pack, gave some to people though. Really want a chocolate samich around now.

Need to remember to call Nana tomorrow she's 70. Forgot to call Aunty Tracy. Crap. Ah well I'll talk to her when I call Nana. Emma's out of hospital and doing well now, no more black bile stuff.

I'm going to stop boring you now, bye bye :)

So after my interview

I went to see my college today and we have now decided that I am dropping biology, retaking the second sociology exam, continuing with health but resubmitting a coursework piece and I will be taking both years of psychology at once.

Hopefully this get's my grades for uni.

Results day

Ah results day, the time we find out how shit we really did. Well I royally fucked up didn't I?

107/300 = U in Biology
87/200 = E in Psychology
113/200 = D in Sociology
207/300 = C in Health and Social Care (3 marks (3!) off a B, my target grade)

So next year it's official, no more biology for me. After failing, then retaking, then failing the retake I have decided to give up on biology and take another subject, the only thing now is I have to decide which subject.

I like the look of GCSE Italian but it won't get me any UCAS points. But I really like the Italian culture and I think that I would do well. My other option is taking English Literature. Mum's really pushing for this, she thinks it's a "proper degree" but I don't think I'll enjoy it as much because it would be analysing texts that I don't really like, but I suppose I could put up with it for one year.

I guess I'll know what I'm doing after tomorrow, I have an appointment to discuss what I can do next year.

Anyway I just needed to talk it out, to try and make up my mind.

This essay you've heard so much about...

I really hate Health & Social Care. It's taking things to far now. If I don't take law how the hell am I supposed to know what "Policies/ legislation's support these rights". Stupid.

I've managed to blag 2 out of 5 care values.

I have to do this for 3 more care values:
  • Take each care value separately, define it and explain what it involves  (simple enough)
  • What rights does this give service users
  • Which policies/legislation support these rights

Dear people, while writing this I have realised a problem. I have missed out the 2nd bullet point. Oh joy, must go and edit my essay now.

I had done this for one of the care values and not the other one, oops.

I had attempted it for the second one, but because the care value was promoting and supporting service user rights I couldn't very well say "well it gives them this right, and  this one, and this one" could I? So I wrote about the human rights act and some rights in there I could apply to it.

The sinking feeling in my stomach has lifted now. I have 15 hours till this must be handed in. I can finish this in that amount of time, can't I? CAN'T I? Not a time to panic, not now.

Breathe.

I feel better, it's not hard for the first two bullet points its just the damn law crap that really gets me.
What really sucks is there are no emotes on this otherwise you'd see a big red faced guy smashing stuff up.

I greatly appreciate Maddy's amazing skills at English, and thanks her for putting up with me asking her to check my grammar.

What sucks is that Matt just offered me his law book to borrow again but this is due tomorrow so there's no way I can use it.

After a big bowl of ravioli and having a nice chat with Matt, I'm trying to convince him to look in his law book for me. 14 hours to go. Dear dear, I made some progress though. He's looked through his law book and it has no more help for me. Grreeeaat.

Well my lovely tech guy Aaron has helped me with my Internet problem. Basically my wireless isn't Strong enough to reach my xbox enough to allow me to go on live, I have to buy a weird plug splitter. £40 or more. Time to save my EMA.

Right I'm going back to my essay and I'm posting this before my mother shuts off the Internet. Goodnight all. Wish me luck.

Back to college -_-

So once again it's come to the time when student's must return to college. It wouldn't be that bad if my first exam wasn't in 6 days!  AAAAHHHH! Time to panic!

Biology. I hate it. I'm not very good at it, the most I can manage is to scrape (and I mean scrape) a C. Still today my lesson was good, we could pick how we revised. My teacher told us about his new years day.

.... and so the story starts.....

He got up at about 2 in the morning and went downstairs to the kitchen. He started feeling a bit funny and that's when he fainted. Not only did he faint he smacked his head on the radiator, which would explain why he had two gashes on his face and a tooth missing. So when he came too he rang the hospital and they said they couldn't send out any ambulances as they didn't have enough. What the hell! He smacked his head on a radiator and is bleeding like mad. So they told him to get a taxi.

Poor, poor biology teacher.

Anyway, I'm reading a new book. Yay! It's called Firespell. Once I've finished it.... so tomorrow, I'll review it.

Ttfn.

I don't like this girl.

So today I was looking through Sugar's Facebook page when I saw that some people had been yelling at them for spreading lies about a person they interviewed. I decided to look into this so I read all the comments and looked on the girls Facebook page and read what she had to say. I then decided to read the article.

The article was pretty interesting and is in February 2011's issue. Its about a girl who is allowed to have sex in her house, get drunk, has two tattoos and goes partying and clubbing for days on end.  This wouldn't be a problem if she wasn't 14! That's right, this girl is only fourteen years old. Furthermore this child has dropped out of school and is being home schooled, and is under the impression that she will get into college easily. It's not the fact that she's home schooled that makes me doubtful she'll get into college, it's her attitude towards drinking, sex and partying. There are reasons why they have age restrictions.

So a lot of people are saying that the magazine is making this up. The girl in question is saying that the magazine is lying, they got the story from other papers (so if it's in other papers, you told them? Are they lying too, little girl?).

She's also said that legal action is going to be taken against them. The magazine has then said that if she doesn't stop denying the interview they will be talking to their lawyers.

Now the magazine have said that they have the interview on tape word for word, so this is evidence to back them up. Also there are suggestions that she has sold this story to 5, yes, 5 magazines. Are they all lying then?

To think about this logically, Sugar is a reputable magazine who have a lot to lose if they are lying about having and interview with the girl, and are found to be making up their stories. This child has what to lose exactly? She will gain publicity for this, and her reputation will be damaged if she is a liar.

This girl apparently likes being in the limelight because her Facebook page isn't normal, oh no, she has a fan page. So now we see what this is coming down to. By interviewing with Sugar she is getting publicity, by then denying the interview she gets even more publicity, and if legal action is taken she will undoubtedly be on the news getting more publicity.

In my opinion the girl is a fame hungry child, who doesn't realise the consequences of her actions.

Let me know what you think about this.

You can find more on her story if you google her.

Rachel Caine - Glass houses

I changed my mind about doing Richelle Mead's Frostbite (Sorry). However I will do it at some point.

I'm now doing the first book in The Morganville Vampires series. This book is called Glass houses. Yes it is another vampire book, I read a lot of these. Also I read books about Succubi, Angels, Ghosts, Werewolves and Witches. They are always so gripping, mostly because you wish you could be like them. Who doesn't?

In this series we follow the story of Claire Danvers, a sixteen year old girl who has gone to university early. Instead of going to a university she really wanted to go to her parents send her to Morganville, Texas as it is closer to home and they feel she is not quite old enough to go out into the world on her own, and lets face it at sixteen she probably isn't despite being gifted and intellectually advanced for her age.

We start the story with Claire recalling the day she moved into the Glass house. On this day someone had stolen her laundry. Why her laundry? I do not know, but I'd be pretty peeved. It turns out that a girl called Monica Morrell had thrown her laundry down the garbage chute. Bitch.

Monica doesn't like Claire because she happened to correct her about who was involved in WWII. To be honest I think anyone would have corrected her, everyone knows who was involved in WWII. Back to the story. After Claire talks herself round from crying she hears Monica talking to her. Monica, like any other gutless bully, doesn't work alone and has, surprise surprise, two back ups Gina and Jennifer. After a few minutes of teasing Claire, Gina and Monica make a comment about Jennifer which makes her take her anger out on Claire. When Claire defends herself Monica slaps her. She slaps her right back, letting go of the banister (stupid thing to do at the top of the stairs). Monica then punches her, and as she tries to regain her balance Gina pushes her backwards and Claire falls down the stairs backwards. Not satisfied with this, a murder attempt, Monica then threatens to give Claire whats coming to her later that night. Claire picks herself up and take the advice of a passer by, Erica, to go to the "quack shack" and get herself checked out.

So after all this Claire decides not to go back to the university dorm and check out an ad for a wanted room mate. She sits down outside the house and cries. A girl introduces herself, Eve, and is about the only nice person she has met. Eve invites her into the house and shows her around trying to get her to stay. In the house she meets a guy, Shane (quite a nice guy, good looking too) and he's really nice to her and gets her some food. Eve tells her what goes on around the house. They get to talking about Michael (the other guy in the house, who sleeps days) and Eve mentions she called him a vampire once, and Claire thinks she's making a joke. But Eve insists the town is full of vampires. She then takes Claire up to her room and lets her go to sleep.

Through the book Claire learns more about the town and the vampires. She also has to try and avoid Monica as much as possible. While in town she makes an enemy of the vampires and now has to try and find a way to stay alive.

This book is very interesting, especially in the way the vampires keep control of the town. I recommend this to any reader.

Richelle Mead - Vamprie Academy

So I'm back and I can't be bothered to write my essay anymore.

Ooh Tom Dice - Me and My Guitar from Eurovision just came on, such a beautiful song.

Anyway, I decided I'd talk about the Vampire Academy series because I just finished the 6th book, I know you're probably thinking "Oh another vampire series" but fear not this series is pretty good.

Vampire academy is set around Rose Hathaway and her best friend Vasilisa (more commonly known as Lissa) Dragomir. Rose is a Dhampir, meaning she is half Moroi (I'll get to that in a minute) and half human/Dhampir, a Dhampirs father is a vampire and their mother is either another Dhampir or a human. Now a Moroi is a name for a type of vampire. They need to survive on the blood of humans but they can still eat normal food. Moroi use Dhampirs as their body guards as while they both go to Academies, Dhampirs have combat training while Moroi have more academic lessons.

Moroi have to have bodyguards because the other type of vampire, Strigoi, feed off of them. This is because to turn Strigoi they have fed on another Moroi and drained them completely or a Moroi has exchanged blood with another Strigoi. Moroi blood sustains Strigoi more but they can still feed from humans.

Now back to the story. The book starts with Rose in Lissa's dream about her brother. When they come out of the dream they are talking about how long it had been since Lissa had fed. After giving Lissa some blood Rose looks out of the window and see's a man watching her. Rose then makes the judgement that it is no longer safe for them to remain where they are. They try to make it to a "borrowed" car but the man is not alone and they start to catch up to them so the girls start to run.

A man cuts off their path and Rose obviously steps into a defensive position to protect Lissa, after she has noticed how "hot" the man is. When he gets to close Rose attacks him but he blocks her manoeuvres. Lissa tells her not to fight anymore and the man, Dimitri Belikov, says that he will take them back to the academy.

The rest of the book is spent at the academy where Rose is put back into training and Lissa is put back into her lessons. However not everything at the academy is perfect as someone is trying to get to Lissa by leaving dead animals in her bed. This makes her unstable.

When they reached the academy Dimitri was set as Rose's instructor to catch her up on the two years of training she has missed. Gradually their relationship grows from hate to respect to love.

I'm not going to reveal any more about the book because that would defeat the point of reading the book. You'll have to read it for yourself and tell me what you think of it.

Next time I will write about Richelle Mead's second book in the series, Frostbite.

Yay first post... now I have to write something, damn.

So, why is it that you always put off work till the last minute and then you can't write anything when you finally sit down to do it? This really anoys me. I've been sat here for about 4 hours now and I've only managed to write about 5 paragraphs,  if I can even call them that, anout the care value base. I've taken Health and Social for three years now and I am finding this too hard.

Still I have my music playing away in the background. I only just figured out my ipod could play through my 360. I'm not very good at technology am I? Anyway, at the moment I have Blood On The Dance Floor telling me 'Success is the best revenge'. Pretty awesome song, I love this band.

I'd recomnd listening to them. http://www.myspace.com/bloodonthedancefloor

While writing this I realised I'm putting off my essay again. Not good. I could just do it tomorrow, I have till thursday anyway. But can I really be bothered?

Right I'm off, I have to do this essay.

Hoping my teacher doesn't give me another D, then I'll be mad.
